Unsportsmanlike Conduct

The LHSAA, which is the governing body for high school sports in Louisiana, has issued a statement for fighting, before, during or after an LHSAA sanctioned event (i.e.; game, match, tournament).

Unsportsmanlike conduct by athletes, coaches, officials, or spectators will not be tolerated. The penalty for a severe offense will be suspension for the individual or team from that sport for the remainder of the season.

The penalty for the school will also be severe. The school could be placed on probation, could be charged a fine, spectators may not be able to attend a home event, or schools may not host an event at their school for 1 year.

It is the responsibility of the host school to control the crowd at a sporting event. Ehret has instituted measures to help control situations at these events. A JPSO deputy or deputies will attend all sporting events hosted at Ehret. Unruly spectators will be asked to leave the premises by the JPSO. Also, the coaches are discussing with the athletes the importance of showing good sportsmanship.

I know we will do our best here at Ehret because we are PATRIOTS!
